Discover what Early learning Activities are and how they support child development in this article.
Early learning activity is a purposeful, play-based experience designed to support a child’s development through hands-on exploration.
We have teachers create these activities that are then tested and vetted, before being made available for everyone else to use.
In the example below, the “Tugging Box” encourages growth in key developmental areas like fine motor skills, cognitive thinking, and problem solving.
For example, in the Tugging Box activity for 12–18 month-olds, children are naturally drawn to pulling strings and exploring what happens next. This simple action helps strengthen their hand muscles and coordination (fine motor), while also introducing cause-and-effect relationships. Decorating the box fosters creativity and collaboration, and we suggest use of open-ended questions during the play to build language and thinking skills.
Ultimately, early learning activities are about meeting children where they are developmentally and guiding their curiosity in meaningful, age-appropriate ways.
