How to create a lesson plan?

This is a guide for educators on how to create a lesson plan for your classroom on the iBlum portal. Follow along the steps to learn how to.

1. Navigate to the Lesson Plan Page


    • Log in to the LJ Portal.

    • Click the hamburger menu (☰) and select Learn & Reports.

    • Click Create a New Lesson Plan.

    • You will be navigated to the Create Lesson

    •  Plan page.

 

2. Select the Program and Title

  • Choose the program and classroom for which you want to create a lesson plan.

    • Example: Program Infants, Classroom Infant 2 Room.

  • Enter a title for the lesson plan.

  • Example: Exploring Textures / September 22–26, 2025

  • The title and description can be edited by clicking Edit Title / Description.

  • You'll be navigated to the Edit Lesson Plan page to edit the title and description. Click Continue to proceed back to Create Lesson Plan page.



3. Populate the Activity Table

The activity table is laid out like a calendar. Each cell represents a day and domain slot.

  • Click the plus (+) sign in the middle of a cell to add an activity.

  • Enter the activity title and optional description. Click Save to save your changes.

  • Click on the pencil icon to edit fields or the X icon to delete an entry.


4. Select Domain and Skill

Each activity can be linked to developmental skills:

  • Use the Domain/Skill dropdown (above the table) to select the appropriate skill.

  • Domains are grouped by age level and include areas such as Social, Emotional, etc.

  • Optionally, you can also select an Intelligence area to support the activity.
  • Select the bottom left plus icon to add the checked intelligence. You may need to click more than once to add multiple intelligences. 


5. Save and Edit Later

  • The system saves automatically, so you can close the page and ret

  • urn anytime.

  • Your lesson plan should be visible under 'Manage lesson plans' from the home page
  • Activities can be edited, copied, or removed throughout the week.

Important Notes

  • Skills and domains should be aligned with the activity's developmental goals.

  • Multiple skills may be applied to a single activity for richer learning connections.
