How to Clock in / Clock out with a QR Code?
This guide details how users can clock in and out for their shift using a QR code with the Kiosk App.
ARRIVAL
Step 1: Select Arrival
- On the supervisor device, select Arrival and you will be navigated to the next page
- Select the classroom that you are assigned to for the day and hit Continue. You will not be able to continue until a classroom is selected.

Step 2: Scan QR code
- On the top right corner of your feed, hit the QR code icon
- It should generate a QR code that you can use to display to the Kiosk App
** QR codes are only valid for a certain amount of time. After 1 minute of hitting the icon, the QR code generated expires and will not be accepted by the Kiosk app. If you get an error like the one below, click on 'Back to Home'. On your device, exit out of the QR code and click the icon again to generate a new one.

Step 3: Select Arrival
- On the supervisor device, select Arrival and you will be navigated to the next page
- Select the classroom that you are assigned to for the day and hit Continue
- Scan your QR code to the camera until it is recognized

Step 4: Confirm Arrival
- If your arrival is successful, the screen will change and greet you
- You are now clocked in

DEPARTURE
Follow the same steps as Arrival but instead, select departure.
Step 1: Select Departure
- Select departure and you will be navigated to the next page
- Choose the desired type of departure: Break, Lunch, or End of Shift

Step2: Scan QR code
- Scan your QR code to the camera until it is recognized

Step 3: Attest your arrival, rest, meal and departure times for the day
- Upon successful validation the following attestation screen is displayed. The screen must be attested by the user that they agree to the terms and conditions stated in the screen.
- Selecting I agree, states the user of the Kiosk agrees to the terms and conditions of timekeeping.

Step 4: Agreement or disagree with the Hours, Meal & Rest Periods and Overtime periods
- Upon agreeing to the Terms of Attestation in Step 4, the user is led to the actual hours to approve and agree if hours of work were following certain rules, meal periods, rest period were appropriate and if overtime was approved
- The three items a user needs to agree are:
- Clock-in / Clock-out hours
- Yes / No – Agree / disagree to the recorded clock-in clock-out hours
- Meal & Rest Periods
- Yes / No – Agree / Disagree to the correctness of the meal and rest periods provided by the organization
- Overtime Hours
- Yes / No – Agree / Disagree on whether the overtime recorded was authorized and approved by the staff’s supervisor.
- Clock-in / Clock-out hours
- Selecting the [Submit 10:30 AM] button confirms that their Shift End time is set at that time
Selecting a No for any one of the second and third items generates an issue in iBlüm Management Portal for the Center Director to review and respond to the Employee.
The screen shot below shows the issue that is created if Staff checking-out selects No i.e. disagrees the Overtime Hours.

-
The screen below shows the staff member agrees to the check-in check-out hours recorded, the Meal & Rest Periods but disagrees to the Overtime being authorized and approved by the Director.

Step 5: Confirm Departure
- If your departure is successful, the screen will change and greet you
- You are now clocked out

OFFLINE MODE
- If you lose internet connection, you can still use the Kiosk app to check in and checkout
- You will be able to tell that you are in offline mode if you see ‘OFFLINE’ at the bottom
- If you remain in offline mode and check-in/check-out you should see the # of records increment after your interaction
- Photo above on the left shows no records and photo on the right is after a check-in showing 1 record to be synced
