How do I share a publication?

This article explains how to share a publication, which is useful if you want to send out a message to educators and/or parents, (e.g. in case of an emergency).

The publications feature allows you to share a document (e.g. PDF) to either the parents and/or teachers. This feature can be useful if you want to disseminate important information like emergency notices.

Here are the steps to using the publications feature:

Step 1: Login to the iBlum Portal using your supervisor or director credentials.

Step 2: Under Portfolio, click Upload artifacts to the center portfolio (See image below).

Step 3: When you go to Upload your Artifact, in the Category drop-down menu, select "Publications" as the category (see image below).  Choose the file you want to become a publication. Click "Upload".

✏️Note: Please use the templates provided to publish artifacts and make announcements.

Step 4: This will lead to the "Center Portfolio" page where you will see the artifacts for your center.

Step 5: Return to the main page and click Publish artifacts (See image below).

Step 6: This will take you to the "Publications" page, where you will be able to see the artifacts that have been uploaded. Click "[+] Publish artifact" in the top-left corner of the table.

Step 7: This will take you to a list of artifacts that you can select. Click Select on the artifact you want to publish.

Step 8: This will open the "Publish Artifact" page which allows you to publish the artifact for specific user roles in the iBlum app. In the drop-down menu for "For", select the user role you want to publish your artifact (i.e. All, supervisor, teacher or parent). Click Create

Step 9: The artifact should now show up under "Publications" (by clicking Publish Artifacts).

Once you complete the steps above, parents or audience will see it in their feeds and their publications. New publications will appear at the top of the user's feed. It will also show up under the 'Account' tab > Publications in the iBlum app.

✏️ Note: Publications are not alerts in that if a parent is not actively using the iBlum app, they will not see your artifact (even if it's regarding an emergency).
